The country’s bank deposits are now record high as they have reached Rs26, 110 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the statistics released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), in just one year, from August 2022 to August 2023, the deposits increased by Rs3,958 billion or in other words by 17.90 per cent. 

The figures further show that the deposits jumped by 1.60 per cent from July 2023 to August 2023. In other words, they went up by Rs408 billion.

According to experts, the deposits are constantly on the rise due to highest-ever interest rate.
