Former federal minister and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) spokesperson Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has reiterated that the purpose of establishing the party is to address the people's problems and stand with them, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference after the first Central Executive Committee meeting of the IPP, here at Model Town on Tuesday, she said that in the meeting it was decided that the IPP would form a collective strategy in a bid to take the country out of the crisis.

IPP leadership including Ishaq Khakwani, Noman Langriyal, Col Hashim Dogar, and Ch Akhlaq were present on the occasion.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan emphasized that the IPP's secretariat would represent the aspirations of the public.

She said that in the upcoming elections in Punjab, her party has a competition with PTI and PML-N.

She said IPP leadership highlighted that they were following democratic traditions.

Dr. Awan mentioned that Jahangir Tareen remained committed to supporting flood victims.

Ishaq Khakwani said that the meeting reached a consensus that elections should only be held after the delineation of new constituencies.

He further emphasized that the election date should be announced promptly once the new constituencies are established.

Dr Ashiq said that party members at district and provincial levels were urged to expedite the organization process to better represent the people.

The Central Executive Committee expressed reservations about the performance of previous governments, particularly noting that PML-N had brought the country to the brink of destruction, she added.

Hashim Dogar stated that their objective was to provide relief to the people and that a committee would be formed to mobilize politicians and activists who had been silent.

He said that party members were tasked with working on public relations campaigns and mobilizing the party within their respective constituencies.

Ishaq Khakwani stressed the importance of giving the election date to the Election Commission, emphasizing the need for clean and transparent elections.

The common agenda of the meeting was to provide relief to the people, and there was a collective expression of confidence in the Election Commission, he added.

Dr. Firdous said that the top priorities of the party were stated as preparation for elections, public relations campaigns, and expanding the party's membership.

Hashim Dogar clarified that the IPP had no plans to ally with any other political party and believed that it would emerge as a major political party in its own right.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan criticized both PTI and PML-N for not implementing reforms that would benefit the people, expressing the party's commitment to bringing about reforms in various sectors.
