A special Official Secrets Act court Wednesday extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi till September 26 in the cipher conspiracy case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Special Official Secrets Act court judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain extended the judicial remand of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

He was produced in the Official Secrets Act court of the judicial complex, Islamabad.

“Judge sahib has gone to the jail for the hearing. We can ask judge sahib! If he says, we will send you back after marking your attendance,” the court staff informed Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

“What happened to my bail plea?” Shah Mehmood Qureshi inquired from the court staff.

“The case of the PTI chairman is being heard in jail today. Your bail plea will be heard tomorrow,” the court staff told him.

“Please give me cold clean water [to drink],” Shah Mehmood Qureshi requested the court staff.

While talking to media, he said that he was innocent and a political prisoner. “May Allah give me the courage to endure oppression with patience,” he prayed.

“It is a request from the judge that justice can be delayed but should not be denied,” he stated.

“The chairman of the PTI was and is Imran Khan, no doubt. I presented a vision for Pakistan. The country is currently suffering from economic, constitutional and political crises. The only way to lead the country out of the crises is transparent elections,” he pointed out.

“We have to rise above our interests and egos to think about Pakistan. Pakistan is in trouble. We all have to review our stances and strategies so that Pakistan’s interests are not hurt,” he stressed.
