Official Secrets Act special court has extended judicial remand of PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan for another 14 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulfarnain conducted the in-camera proceedings of the cipher case at Attock Jail on Wednesday.

He extended the ex-prime minister’s judicial remand for another 14 days, directing that next hearing will be held on September 27 and left the prison for Islamabad.

Earlier, the PTI legal team arrived at the Attock Jail for the cipher trial proceedings against Imran Khan.

Fool-proof security arrangements had been made for the case hearing.

Yesterday, the law ministry allowed to continue the case trial in Attock Jail through a notification, citing security reasons.

The cipher leaking case has been registered against the former prime minister and former foreign minister and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi under the Official Secrets Act and a Special Court is hearing the case.

According to the notification, the ministry said that it had no objection to conducting the case trial in Attock Jail.

The 14-day judicial remand of the PTI chairman expired on Tuesday and as per the ministry’s notification, the special court judge will hear his bail application today in the prison.

Yesterday, the Islamabad High Court reserved its verdict on the former prime minister’s petition challenging his trial in the cipher case in Attock Jail.
