Additional District and Sessions Judge Shahid Ali Memon rejected the bail of the accused Natasha in the drug case in the Karachi Karsaz accident, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Friday.

Natasha, who has already been granted bail in the main case in lieu of a surety bond of Rs100,000, is presently in jail on judicial remand. Two cases had been registered against the suspect at Bahadurabad police station in Karachi.

A sessions court in Karachi had last Friday granted bail to her and her husband after the counsel for the victims’ family said that they had pardoned them and were no longer interested in pursuing the case.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a settlement was reached where over Rs 55 million were paid as diyat (compensation) to the family of deceased persons Arif and his daughter Aamna. Additionally, a relative of Aamna will be offered a job in a company associated with Natasha.

The sources said that the payment of a large amount was made via a pay order. Additionally, Aamna’s relatives will be given employment by the company.

The sources further stated that the injured persons have also received a good amount of diya, and a settlement has been reached with them separately. The sources also said that the diyat agreement between the parties was made considering Shariah law.

On August 19, a speeding Toyota Land Cruiser, driven by Natasha, had hit three motorcycles and another car before overturning. Sixty-year-old Imran Arif and his 22-year-old daughter Amna were killed in the accident, while three others were wounded.

A video revealed details of the Karsaz incident in Karachi, where a woman (Natasha Danish Iqbal), while driving recklessly, first collided with a white Corolla and a motorcycle before speeding away.

During the investigation, the driver’s husband, Danish Iqbal, had also been named as a suspect. However, he was later granted seven-day protective bail by the Sindh High Court.

According to the documents, Natasha holds British citizenship and arrived in Karachi from London on August 2, 2024.

She also possesses a UK driving licence, valid until 2031. However, under Pakistani law, foreign driving licences are only valid for six months for driving in the country.

The documents further reveal that Natasha was first admitted to the psychiatric ward at Aga Khan Hospital on August 18, 2005, and was discharged three days later on August 21, 2005.
