Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari was not allowed to take part in the National Assembly proceedings on Thursday and was sent home by the chair, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Awais Leghari attended the National Assembly session wearing a mask, telling the chair that he has symptoms of Covid but he has yet to undergo a test.

The House was in all smile when the Deputy Speaker remarked: “You are scaring us”.

“I have come in respect to Parliament. If you don’t allow me to sit here then let me take a seat at the press gallery from where I can answer the questions,” Leghari urged the chair.

The Deputy Speaker then sent Awais Leghari out the House saying you should go and get tested first.

While on his way out, Awais Leghari went straight to Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub and offered to shake his hand.

Omar Ayub Khan also stood up and came forward to shake hands.

However, Awais Leghari withdrew his hand and left the hall without shaking hands.
