The Lahore High Court has granted bail to PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A two-member bench of the LHC announced their decision on Wednesday after hearing arguments from Sharif’s and NAB’s counsels.

The bench comprising Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Asjad Javed Gharal heard the bail plea of Shehbaz Sharif.

The court ordered the release of Shehbaz Sharif after he submits two surety bonds of Rs5 million each.

Azam Nazir Tarrar appeared before the court on behalf of Shehbaz Sharif while Special Persecutor Syed Faisal Raza Bukhari appeared from NAB’s side.

PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah, Malik Saiful Muluk Khokhar, Ataullah Tarrar and others were also present in the courtroom.

The NAB prosecutor argued and alleged that all the benami account holders made these assets because of Shehbaz Sharif despite having no source of income.

“They could not tell about the business and could not even name the business from which they were getting Rs30 million annually. The businesses which were giving them such a huge amount of money were not even registered anywhere,” Syed Faisal Raza Bukhari argued.

Maryam Nawaz in a tweet was quick to welcome the bail granted to Shehbaz Sharif.
