With the aim to end the ongoing polarization in society, Pak Army Chief General Asim Munir hurled the slogan of "Hamara Pakistan" against the "Naya Pakistan" and "Purana Pakistan".

Gen Asim delivered the concluding speech in the National Security Council (NSC) In-Camera session at the Parliament and said the centre of gravity of the state of Pakistan is the people, while the manifestation of the opinion of the people is the Constitution and the Parliament.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the NSC in-camera briefing on national security held under the chair of National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf at the Parliament House on Friday. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the meeting.

The sources said Army Chief Gen Asim Munir congratulated the Parliament and its members on the completion of 50 years of the implementation of the 1973 Constitution.

He said the centre of gravity is the people of Pakistan and the Constitution of Pakistan and the Parliament are the manifestations of their opinion and people exercise their opinion through the constitution and the parliament.

The Army Chief said sovereignty belongs to Almighty Allah and the Constitution has been authorized only by this order of Allah Almighty.

General Asim Munir said the constitution says that the power shall be exercised by the elected representatives of the people.

The Army Chief also paid tribute to the framers of the 1973 Constitution.

General Asim said that the elected representatives of the people [the Parliament] should determine the destination and the Pakistan Army will fully support them in the journey of development and success of the country as Pakistan has no dearth of resources and manpower.

On these views, Members of the National Assembly welcomed the Army Chief by thumping their desks.

Answering different questions related to national security and going on military operations, he said this is a campaign based on the already approved and ongoing strategy of the "Deterrness, Dialogue and Development" of the State of Pakistan.

He added that apart from the security agencies, this campaign will include all the necessary elements of the government such as legal, economic, social and others.

The Army Chief said this is not a new operation but a whole national approach that reflects the unwavering confidence of the people and which includes all elements of the state.

He confirmed to the Parliament that now there is no no-go area in Pakistan and behind this success is a large number of martyrs and ghazis who cultivated this country with their blood as more than 80,000 of them offered sacrifices including the blood of more than 20,000 Ghaziyans and more than 10,000 martyrs.

General Asim Munir said terrorists have no other option but to accept the writ of the state as security forces are ready to maintain peace in the country and intelligence-based operations are being conducted on a daily basis in this regard.

He said holding talks with terrorists was a mistake as Pakistan bore the brunt of the negotiations with the terrorists came in the form of their further grouping.

Addressing the NSC meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid tribute to the officers and men of the law enforcement agencies including the army, rangers, and police.

The PM said Pakistan has given more than 80,000 sacrifices in the struggle against terrorism and restored peace in the county but in the last four years, it was wasted.

PM Shehbaz raised some questions that why did terrorism come back into the country, and who brought it? All the provinces had given funds for the objectives under the eradication of terrorism and FATA reforms, where did they go?

Where were the resources of billions of rupees given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa used?

He said all these questions raised by him should be answered.
