The Karachi zoo management has described the 17-year-old ailing elephant Noor Jahan's lying on the ground a way to recovery, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Administrator Karachi Dr Saif-ur-Rehman said that staff is adhering to the instructions of the foreign NGO's medical specialists and expressed the hope that Noor Jahan will soon make a full recovery.
The ailing elephant was lying on the ground, and although she has not yet been able to stand on her feet, she is still moving her limbs, which is a sign of some improvement.
On the other side, director of the zoo Kanwar Ayub said that it is encouraging to see the elephant enter the water on her own after a long time. He added that since she has lost her energies as a result of her protracted illness, due to which she is unable to make any movement.
It merits here to mention that the Noor Jahan struggled to fall asleep for four months could not sleep for four months after she started limping. She then experienced a decline in her health that left her partially paralyzed.
She was recently diagnosed with hematoma disease, which caused edema in the reproductive organs and blocking the passage of urine and stool.
