Gunfire rang out near the Mumbai home of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Bandra on Sunday morning, reported 24News HD TV Channel.
according to the details of the incident, at approximately 4:51 am, two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle fired several shots toward the actor's residence before making a swift getaway.
The Mumbai Police launched an investigation to apprehend the culprits behind the incident. A forensics team was promptly dispatched to the scene to gather evidence including marking the bullet signs on the wall and gate.
This incident isn't the first security concern tied to the actor. Last March, the Mumbai Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar following a threatening email sent to Salman Khan's office.
In light of such security threats, Salman Khan's security detail was upgraded to Y-Plus status in November 2022, and he was granted permission to carry a personal firearm.
Responding to the unsettling incident, Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt strongly reacted to the firing outside Salman Khan's Mumbai home and said it was 'Horrific and condemnable'.
The head of the Shiv Sena (UBT) Anand Dubey remarked, "Be it Salman Khan or an ordinary citizen, the sense of safety in Mumbai and Maharashtra is dwindling."
