President, PM and PPP chairperson greet Sikhs on Baisakhi

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Sunday greeted Sikhs on Baisakhi.

In a message, the president said that the occasion gave a message of love, happiness, peace and affection. He added Pakistan ensure all steps to facilitate the Sikh community.

The president said that Pakistan was committed to safeguarding the rights of all minorities and they acknowledged the contributions made by the minorities in the progress and development of the country.

Reiterating the resolve to continue protecting minority rights, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sunday Sikh community the federal and the provincial provincial governments are providing Sikhs with all facilities to perform their rites and mark their festivals. “Let’s play our role in building a peaceful world,” he added.

PPP Chairman Bilawal said the message of Baisakhi festival is brotherhood and spiritual renewal.

He extended his warm welcome to the Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan from all over the world. “The Sikh community has a deep connection with Pakistan, it is their second home. The Pakistan People's Party is committed to the protection of minority rights and the principles of religious tolerance and coexistence.
