City42 and 24NewsHD, two popular news channels of the country owned by the City News Network, celebrated their birthdays on Independence Day. City42 turned 12 and 24NewsHD six on August 14, 2020.
Cakes were cut in different cities, including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, to mark the birthdays of these two news channels. The main ceremony was held at the City News Network headquarters in Lahore and a cake was cut on this occasion.
Another ceremony was held at City News Network’s Karachi office. Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani attended the ceremony. Birthdays of City42 and 24NewsHD were also celebrated in Islamabad.
In Peshawar, a cake was cut to mark the occasion and local journalists greeted the news channels. A cake was also cut at the Quetta office of the City News Network on this occasion.
In Faisalabad, local social and political figures attended the birthday ceremony of City42 and 24NewsHD. Ceremonies were also held in Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Rahim Yar Khan.
In Toba Tek Singh, the deputy commissioner, district police officer and local political figures attended the birthday ceremonies of the two news channels. In Jhang, the deputy commissioner and local political figures attended the ceremony.
