Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has been awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz by President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on the auspicious occasion of the 75th Independence Day and Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Pakistan.
Babar Azam has been a shining star of international cricket for the last few years and has excelled his whole potential in reaching the top. He is currently in the top three batsmen of ICC rankings in all three formats that are batting, bowling and fielding.
Azam is also on the way to becoming The Best Batsman in Test cricket in the modern world.
Dr Arif Alvi awarded the highest civilian awards to praiseworthy people of various sections and different fields for either their bravery or their excellence in their specific fields.
At dawn, the day was started with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21 gun salute in every provincial capital. Which was followed by particular prayers for the peace and solidarity and prosperity of the country and its long life. The main event was the national flag hoisting ceremony in Islamabad.
Along with Babar Azam for cricket, Jahangir Khan for squash, rising stars Arshad Nadeem and Nooh Dastagir Butt for athletics and weightlifting respectively were also awarded high civilian ranks for their excellence and honouring Pakistan on Independence Day.
