Pakistanis celebrate Independence Day with renewed patriotic spirit

Pakistanis all across the country are celebrating Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan’s Independence with the renewed spirit to make it strong and a true Islamic welfare state under the spirit of Pakistan Movement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The day dawned with 31 gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21 gun salute in the provincial headquarters. Prayers were offered for security and progress of Pakistan and well-being of the people. National flag has been hoisting at all important public and private buildings.

The main feature of the celebrations was the national flag hoisting ceremony in Islamabad.

Similar flag hoisting ceremonies are also being held at provincial, divisional and district headquarters level throughout the country.

Public and private buildings as well as streets, bazaars and markets have been profusely illuminated.

National flags, buntings, portraits of founding fathers, posters and banners are also seen everywhere as part of the celebration of Independence Day.

In Lahore, the national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Governor’s House. Governor Balighur Rehman addressed the ceremony and cut the cake to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Pakistan Independence Day

President, PM congratulate nation 

On this occasion, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in their separate messages congratulated the nation on the Independence Day

The President said, we also reaffirm our resolve to uphold Pakistan's ideology and make Pakistan an ideal modern Islamic welfare nation-state.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the Day is a watershed moment in our nation's history.

He said today, we pay rich tributes to Muslims of the sub-continent and express our collective gratitude to them for their heroic struggle, and epic sacrifices for the creation of a new state.

The premier said establishment of Pakistan is an outcome of the Quaid-i-Azam's single-minded devotion, unflinching resolve and his unwavering struggle.

He said while celebrating the Independence Day, let us seek guidance from the ideology and thoughts of our founding fathers and put the welfare of our people at the center of our mission of national rejuvenation.

He said let’s vow to turn Pakistan into a nation-state that is reflective of the ideals of our founding fathers.

PM launches re-recorded national anthem 

On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the newly re-recorded national anthem composed with modern technology on the occasion of Independence Day today [Sunday].

He is the second elected Prime Minister after Liaquat Ali Khan who has got this unique honour.

ISPR felicitates nation 

The media wing of Pakistan Army, ISPR, also congratulated the nation on the 75th Independence Day/Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan.

The ISPR DG posted a tweet on Sunday felicitating the Pakistani people.

Pakistan Navy expresses deep sense of patriotism 

The Pakistan Navy also expressed its love for Pakistan in a short video uploaded on YouTube and shared its link on its Twitter handle showing its deep sense of patriotism and a sense of belonging to their motherland. 

Zardari congrats nation 

Former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari greeted nation on the 75th Pakistan Independence Day.

In his message, Zardari said that for a sovereign and dignified Pakistan, the supremacy of parliament which is elected by people was necessary. 

He said that Qaid-i-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave a consensus 1973 Constitution. We will take our country forward, he added. 

Bilawal says Pakistan withstood every trial and it stands tall 

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also congratulated nation on the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

In his message, Bilawal paid tribute to the extraordinary struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his comrades for the creation of Pakistan. He said the country had seen so many ebbs and flows during these 75 years, but we faced every challenge with patience and steadfastness and eventually overcame these trials. 

He said that Pakistan foreign office was following the policy devised by the Quaid.
