Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired 13th session of the provincial cabinet on Tuesday to approve number of key initiatives for the welfare of the people of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the cabinet meeting, Punjab government decided to replace Speedo Buses with electric-buses in Punjab by December 2024. The electric buses model plan was presented before the Cabinet and the plan was approved by the CM Punjab.
Punjab Cabinet also review plan that in order to provide affordable electricity to Industrial Park, Punjab government will set up direct transmission line from Bhaki, Baloki and Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park to the industrial estates in the province.
During the meeting, after detailed discussion Maryam Nawaz approved CM Roshan Ghrana programme. Under the programme, citizens will be provided Rs15 lakh loan on easy installments. For urban areas, 15 lakh rupees will be given for building a house on 5 marla plots while the citizens belonging to villages will be given Rs15 lakh for the construction of 10 marla houses.
CM Maryam Nawaz on the occasion directed that the monthly instalments will not be taken from the loan applicants for the first three months.
In order to help overseas Pakistanis in 8 countries, Punjab government approved amendment in Registration Act 1908 for Revenue Services. The CM said revenue services will be provided to residents of China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, UK, USA, Italy, Qatar, Bahrain and Spain.
During the Cabinet meeting, the government also gave approval of Punjab Government Advertisement Policy.
Punjab government also approved solar home solution scheme to provide help to protected consumers who are consuming electricity up to 100 units. During the meeting, CM Maryam said that in the next two months, another huge project is being launched to give relief to the public in electricity bills.
Maryam Nawaz also approved the feasibility study of the Rawalpindi to Murree Glass Train project. On the occasion, the CM said Murree Glass Tourist Train was a mega project of the government for the development of tourism. Maryam Nawaz said Murree Glass Train will be a unique project of the country.
