Pakistan’s tech talent has been recognized by Google, one of the top companies in the world, as first time ever Google published a story on a girl from Karachi.
The Ministry of Information and Technology Telecommunication (MOITT) said women empowerment is an important motto of ministry. In a tweet, the ministry informed about the story of Pakistani female student who has been recognized by Google.
Sharing her side of the story about she raised from the town called Hyderabad to Google's recognition, Kinza Momin of National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), said, “My life was going on in Hyderabad. I used to see the people working on the magical boxes called computers. I used to get fascinated by it a lot because you could actually use it for talking to people around the world. While I was using the computer, I used to see a lot of men using the computer. ”
She is part of Google’s Developer Student Club accomplishing multiple technological avenues for Pakistan.

“My father encouraged me to join computer sciences, a field which is actually pre dominate by men, so I was surprised to find that I was one of the only two girls in my class,” she said.
“With DSC, I learnt the art of interacting people, pitching my ideas at hackathons, linking with stakeholders and also problem solving, which not only helped me to win two national hackathons but also the DSC signature competition ‘The Global Solution Challenge.”
It is pertinent to note that Developer Student Clubs are university based community groups for students interested in Google developer technologies.
Students from all undergraduate or graduate programs with an interest in growing as a developer are welcome. By joining a DSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community.
