Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood Tuesday announced winter vacation for educational institutes from December 25 to January 4.
Shafqat made the announcement on his Twitter account. Earlier, it was reported that the NCOC will make a final decision on the winter vacations as it wanted to close the institutes for 15 days but the provinces were in favour of 10 days vacations.
Shafqat wrote on Twitter: “Federal and provincial secretaries met today. The agreed proposal was that the winter holidays should be from Dec 25 to Jan 4. Further notifications will be from the concerned governments.”
It means Friday, December 24 will be the last educational day of 2021 for the students who mostly spent their days at home due to the closure of the educational institutes due to coronavirus pandemic.
The educational institutes will re-open on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
