Residents of Manghopir staged a protest against an anti-encroachment operation, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
The protesters blocked a road and threw traffic out of gear.
A heavy contingent of police arrived on the spot.
Following the court orders, authorities have launched an operation to remove encroachments.
