LHC bans media from interviewing accused in police custody

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday stopped the media representatives from interviewing the accused in police custody.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the LHC also stopped the media representatives from interviewing the wardens and excise officers during their duty.
Regarding this, the LHC also issued an interim order on Wednesday.
DIG Operations Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and DIG Investigation Imran Kishwar appeared in the hearing on the petition in the High Court against interviewing the media representatives of the detained accused. DIG Kamran Adil, Prosecutor General Punjab and other officials also appeared before the court.
During the hearing, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa said that he would pass the order today to stop interviews with the detained accused.
The court also summoned the Attorney General of Pakistan, the Advocate General of Punjab for assistance and the Prosecutor General of Punjab for assistance of the court in the upcoming hearing.
