Cold and dry weather to persist in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Met office, city of Karachi is experiencing cold winds today, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 10 C. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the cold, dry weather is being driven by freezing winds from Balochistan.

"Karachi temperature will feel 2 to 4 degrees lower than the actual reading due to the cold winds," the department said. City recorded a minimum temperature of 13C this morning, and the maximum temperature is expected to reach 26C within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in northern Pakistan, temperatures have dropped significantly. The lowest temperature in the past 24 hours was recorded in Leh at -13°C, followed by Skardu at -7°C, Kalam at -6°C, and Islamabad at -1°C.

Peshawar, Lahore, and Multan recorded temperatures of 3°C and 7°C, respectively. In Gilgit-Baltistan, heavy snowfall has covered the mountains, and roads, homes, and trees are all blanketed in snow. Northern Balochistan is also under a severe cold wave, with temperatures in Quetta falling to -6C, and -5C in Kalat and Ziarat.

The PMD has issued a warning that the cold wave will persist in many regions of the country. The weather is expected to remain cold and dry in Islamabad and surrounding areas.
