Natasha Lakhani, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated makeup artists and the granddaughter of the legendary Madam Noor Jahan, has opened up about her parents’ divorce and its impact on her life.
Known for her work with top celebrities and her makeup masterclasses, Natasha has always honoured her grandmother’s legacy while making a name for herself in the beauty industry.
In a candid conversation, Natasha shared how her mother’s decision to divorce at just 27—a bold move in an era when such choices were stigmatised—shaped their family’s journey.
“Though it was a challenging time, it turned out to be the right decision,” Natasha said.
“People often view divorce as a sign of a ‘broken home,’ but for us, it created a healthier environment.”
Despite the societal pressures faced by her family, Natasha revealed that her parents maintained a cordial relationship. She said her mother occasionally sends food to her father, a gesture that underscores the amicable ties they’ve sustained.
Natasha emphasised that the decision, while difficult, allowed her family to grow up in a non-toxic environment.
“I’m grateful they made that choice when they did,” she said, adding that this heartfelt perspective sheds light on Natasha’s resilient upbringing and the strength her family demonstrated during challenging times, proving that difficult decisions can pave the way for healthier, more supportive relationships.
