The third and final T20I between Pakistan and South Africa at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg ended in disappointment as persistent rain and lightning forced the match to be abandoned without a ball bowled.

The washout handed South Africa a 2-0 series victory, marking their dominance in the three-match contest.

Despite hopes for a thrilling conclusion, the weather disrupted proceedings, with continuous rainfall and lightning preventing even the toss. As conditions worsened throughout the day, officials had no choice but to call off the game.

The Proteas had already secured the series with wins in the first two matches in Durban and Centurion. The abandonment of the final match solidified their 2-0 triumph.

This series loss marks Mohammad Rizwan's second loss as Pakistan's T20I captain. The first came in November when Pakistan endured a 3-0 whitewash against Australia.

In the second T20I, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 206/5, thanks to Ayub's remarkable knock of 98 from 57 deliveries, which included 11 boundaries and five sixes. However, South Africa chased down the target in 19.3 overs, led by Reeza Hendricks’ sensational 117 off 63 balls, which featured seven boundaries and 10 sixes.

In the first T20I, South Africa beat Pakistan by 11 runs.

Chasing a target of 184 runs set by the South African team, Pakistan could score 172 runs in their 20 overs at the loss of 8 wickets.

Skipper Muhammad Rizwan's 74 runs off 62 balls could not get Pakistan over the line. Saim Ayub scored a quickfire 31 off 15 balls.
