Lahore police register murder case in woman's death from Defence shopping plaza's roof

In an important development in the case of a woman who died after reportedly jumping from a building at Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Monday, the police on Tuesday registered an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s son, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Anees Ahmad, Muhammad Hammad killed Haleema, his mother, by pushing her from the 13th storey of the building after both quarreled with each other.  


Police said that Haleema was staying with Hammad in a flat.


The Force further said that they would continue their investigation into the incident with the help of footages obtained from CCTV cameras installed there as well as on the basis of the woman’s post-mortem.


Yesterday, 24News TV channel reported that a woman had allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 13th floor of a building in DHA, Lahore.


According to rescue and police sources, a woman, identified as 35-year-old Haleema, reportedly jumped from the 13th floor of Goldcrest Mall, a shopping plaza.


The incident resulted in her immediate demise, while her friend Hammad was arrested by the police on the spot. 


The body of Haleema, a resident of Cavalry Ground, was shifted to the mortuary for further procedures, while the police, along with forensic teams, collected evidence from the scene to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.


However, the exact nature of the event could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
