The Pakistani rupee remained largely stable against the the US dollar in the interbank market on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the local currency depreciated by 1 paisa and ended the day at at Rs279.32.
On Tuesday, the Pakistani rupee had recorded a marginal gain against the US dollar to settle for the day at Rs279.31.
In a key development, the country has stepped closer to see another coalition government with various political parties announcing their intention to join the other.
Former allies including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and others on Tuesday announced to form a coalition government and also invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to enter “reconciliation” process for the sake of the country.
