The results of local body (LB) elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have thrown up new challenges for the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the province as it has come to light that several party MPAs and MNAs are ready to join the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

Sources told 24News that six PTI MPAs, two MNAs and one senator had established contacts with the JUI-F’s high command. 

Apart from that, over 10 former MNAs, MPAs and senators, most of whom are from the PTI, have also started approaching the JUI-F for the purpose. 

Sources added that the JUI-F’s provincial leadership, on the other hand, has sought time from these probable ‘turncoats’ for consultations with the party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for their inclusion in the party.
