The federal government has directed the parliamentarians including members of the national assembly (MNAs) and the senate to reach Islamabad on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the sources, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Senator Salim Mandviwala will preside over the meeting that will discuss the ongoing political imbroglio in the country.

The parliamentarians will also hold a consultation session before calling a joint session of the NA and the senate.

Through the parliamentary leaders, the members of the National Assembly and the Senate were instructed to ensure attendance.

The meeting will discuss the possibilities as the PTI has decided to test Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif through a vote of confidence in the National Assembly.

The parliamentarians also consider the local body elections bill 2022 for presenting in the joint session.

President Dr Arif Hussain Alvi has returned the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2022 to the government without signing it.
