Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has a tiff with PTI’s lawyer and chief election commissioner (CEC) Niazullah Khan Niazi during hearing of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) appeal against PHC’s decision to restore PTI election symbol on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The heated exchanged took place as the Niazullah Niazi alleged that the CJP had also asked questions relating to PTI from his son during his licence interview.
Justice Qazi angrily intervened, saying “You are insulting me.”
The CJP then stopped Niazi from speaking, saying “This is no way to talk to someone. I even did not know whether Mr Niazi has any son.”
Justice Isa then said he will issue a notice to Mr Niazi and he will never appear in his court.
The CJP then turned to another PTI lawyer Ali Zafar, inquiring from him is this the way advocates argue? “Would we issue notices to people like Niazullah?” he asked.
“If you behave like this then we should leave the court,” Justice Isa said.
Ali Zafar instantly offered apology to the court, saying “This should not have happened.”
