Multinational drug company Novartis on Tuesday contacted Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) regarding supply of unregistered Lucentis Solution in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Novratis also urged DRAP to take stern action against persons involved in smuggling of prohibited solution.
On the other hand, Novartis Pakistan Limited strongly denied all these allegations and stated that the company did not supply any Lucentis solution in the market.
It is necessary to mention here that Lucentis is usable for senior citizens. The injection opened the blocked veins of eye.
DRAP clarified that Lucentis Solution which is available in the market already declared an unregistered medicine. DRAP said that address of Novartis Switzerland is printed on Lucentis solution packets which were available in the market.
DRAP further declared Lucentis solution’s batch number SKVJ 1 as illegal. Lucentis solution injected in the human’s eye through syringe.
DRAP said that Lucentis solution’s quality and usage is still unclear while in some cases it is harmful for human use.
DRAP directed all distributors to seize all the available stock of Lucentis Solution. The distributors should examine Lucentis Solution by themselves and in case of any confusion they should return the same immediately.
