There are some names that have managed to bring the Pakistani drama industry back on the world map. Once again, our shows are now loved and watched worldwide because of people who continue to explore new grounds and achieve new benchmarks each passing year.
Two of these creative geniuses are Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, who have played a major role in uplifting the drama industry. Their production house, 7th Sky Entertainment, is recognized as one of the country’s most prominent production houses.
Their latest project ‘Bandhay Ek Dour Se’ has also managed to startle the audiences and critics alike.
The show has only aired three episodes so far, and yet, it has managed to gain a following that is beyond anyone’s expectations.
The show has recorded skyrocketing ratings, and the numbers continue to grow with every episode.
It follows Umer's story, played by Ahsan Khan and his cousin Maheen played by Ushna Shah. The two have grown up together and are best friends. Umer loves Roshni, played by the convincing Hina Altaf. Roshni is a self-centered and arrogant girl who happens to be Maheen’s neighbor. Maheen has played an important role in bringing Umer and Roshni closer. She is protective of Umer and often tells Roshni that she is lucky to have someone who loves her so much. We find out that Roshni is vain, proud, and often talks to other guys despite knowing how strongly Umer feels about her.
The first episode ended with Monis’s (Maheen’s brother) marriage announcement, amidst her own engagement preparations. Monis is about to marry a girl from his neighborhood. Confusion ensues when Umer assumes Monis is marrying Roshni. What follows is a dramatic yet entertaining chain of events in which Umer fights with everyone, including Maheen, Roshni, and Monis.
In the last episode on the day of her engagement, Maheen figures out Umer’s misconception and sends him the picture of Fazeela-the girl who Monis is actually about to marry.
As soon as he finds out, Umer rushes at the event and joins the festivities. Despite the confusion, the show managed to hold everything together with its tight pace and good performances.
