Polio takes life of 26-month-old boy in Lahore

A 26-month-old kid died of poliovirus in Ravi Town of Lahore on Tuesday, the same day when National Laboratory confirmed the presence of the virus in its report, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Anti-Polio Programme Lahore stated that kid’s both hands and legs were paralyzed due to the poliovirus. “The affected kid became a victim of paralysis in June while the National Laboratory has detected the poliovirus on Thursday,” Anti-Polio Programme Lahore added.

The total number of polio cases in Punjab has now been raised to four while polio cases national tally has jumped to 59.

An Anti-Polio Programme Lahore official said that anti-polio campaign will be launched soon in polio-affected districts keeping in view the complete guidelines.
