The Punjab government’s committee on earning revenue from the Governor‘s House has recommended against holding wedding parties at Governor's House Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The government’s committee raised objections to holding corporate functions at the Governor's House as well, the TV channel said.
The Punjab Chief Secretary has forwarded recommendations to the provincial cabinet. The committee members objected to holding any function at the historic building of Governor's House citing the argument that the Governor House is a heritage.
“Weddings and other ceremonies should not be allowed here,” the committee recommended.
Earlier, it was proposed to fix a fee of Rs 0.5 million to Rs 1 million to arrange corporate and wedding functions at the Governor’s House.
