The federal government gave a go-ahead to pay dues to an Indian broadcaster company after Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry finally convinced the federal cabinet in this regard, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Television (PTV) will now pay US$500,000 arrears to India’s Sony Picture Network.

Sources said that the Pakistan cricket team had visited England in 2020 and PTV who showed the series on its network still has to pay arrears to Sony Picture Network, an Indian company.

The cabinet has directed PTVC to clear the pending payment of US$500,000 in lieu of the rights of the Pakistan Cricket Team’s previous tour of the United Kingdom in 2020 to Sony Picture Network (SPNI).

The sources said that Fawad Chaudhry raised the issue in the cabinet and convinced the cabinet members to clear the pending dues.
