The Islamabad High Court on Thursday ordered to remove objections over former NAB DG Shahzad Saleem’s application filed against the Public Accounts Committee decision to summon him in the Tayyab Gul harassment allegation case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Acting Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the application of Shahzad Saleem with its objections and ordered to remove the demurrals within two days.
The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that Mr Saleem’s biometric could not be done, adding that he was coming today to do the needful. He requested the court to fix the case hearing for today.
But disagreeing with him, the acting chief justice said that he still maintained the objections on the petition, adding that he would look into it when number would be assigned to the file.
The judge, however, ordered to remove objection within two days and returned the petition with objections.
Former NAB director general Shahzad Saleem Wednesday approached the Islamabad High Court against the PAC decision to summon him in the wake of sexual harassment allegations levelled by Tayyaba Gul.
Saleem has made National Assembly secretary, PAC Wing and others party in the plea, which states that the notice issued by the PAC was beyond its jurisdiction.
In a plea, DG NAB has urged the court to declare PAC summon null and void.
Saleem further alleged that the possibility of the petition being filed for personal gains by PAC chairman could not be ruled out and argued that the woman in question has other “relevant forums available”.
Earlier, the Public Accounts Committee has summoned former chairman of National Accountability Bureau Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, director general of Lahore NAB Shahzad Saleem and Tayyaba Gul.
