Good news for Punjab prison department staff as the provincial government on Thursday notified raise in their salaries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the notification, jails’ employees, from grade-I to grade-21, got pay raise between Rs3, 000 and Rs0.1 million.

The salaries of staffers from grade-I and grade-IV was increased by Rs3, 000; of staffers from grade-V to grade-11 by Rs5, 000; of staffers between grade-12 and grade-16 by Rs7, 500; those in grade-17 and grade-18 by Rs40, 000.     

Similarly, a substantial increase by Rs70, 000 was announced in the pay of grade-19 officers of the jail department; those in grade-20 got raise in their salaries by Rs95, 000, while a massive Rs0.1 million increase was notified in the salary of the IG Jail.  

The decision will take effect from July 1, 2022.
