A district and sessions court in Islamabad Thursday adjourned the hearing of the Sara Inam murder case till July 19 next after the lawyer for Shahnawaz Amir, the main accused, completed the cross-examination of Sara Inam’s father and uncle, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
District and Sessions Judge Azam Khan conducted the hearing of the case. Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas and Inamur Rahim, Sara Inam’s father, appeared before the court.
Shahnawaz Amir, the main accused, appeared in the court along with his lawyer Basharat Ullah who cross-examined Inamur Rahim.
“In August of last year, my daughter Sara Inam was living in Abu Dhabi. I told the police that we were upset over Sara Inam’s presence in Islamabad,” Inamur Rahim said in the court.
“On September 22 of last year, I talked to my daughter on the phone. She did not tell me that she was divorced. She told me that she was present at the house of Shahnawaz Amir,” he added.
“I did not know about Sara Inam’s marriage, nor did I ever go to Shahnawaz Amir’s house. I don’t know when and how many times Sara Inam came to Pakistan,” Sara Inam’s uncle Ikramur Rahim told the court.
Basharat Ullah, the accused’s lawyer, completed the cross-examination of Inamur Rahim and Ikramur Rahim in the Sara Inam murder case.
On the next hearing, Station House Officer (SHO) Nawazish Ali will be cross-examined, Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas said.
Basharat Ullah again objected to the method of recording the statements of the witnesses. The hearing of the case was then adjourned till July 19 next.
