Following the Supreme Court's directive, the issue of party affiliation for 41 independent candidates in the National Assembly is being addressed, with MNAs starting to declare their party affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had instructed all independent candidates to submit their affidavits to the party office immediately. Despite these orders, only 20 MNAs have complied so far, while 21 MNAs have yet to submit their certificates.

Among those who have submitted their party affiliation certificates are MNAs Azeemuddin, Chaudhry Usman, Sajid Khan, Sheharyar Afridi, Jamshed Dasti, Osama Hamza, Rana Bilal Ijaz, Muhammad Ahmad Chatta, Mian Azhar (father of Hammad Azhar), and Syed Ali Raza Geelani.

However, several MNAs from South Punjab, including Mian Shabbir Ali Qureshi, Fayyaz Hussain, Khawaja Shiraz, Mian Javed Iqbal, Ayesha Nazir, and Mian Ghos Muhammad, have not yet submitted their certificates to the party.

PTI had set a deadline of 11 PM last night for all candidates to submit their affidavits to compile lists and submit them to the Election Commission. The Election Commission will confirm the candidates' party affiliations within seven days after receiving the lists and completing the verification process.
