PM updated on preparations of LG polls

Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting at CM Secretariat in Lahore on Saturday to review preparations for holding local bodies elections.
The premier was briefed that work on administrative, legal and managerial measurements for introducing a ‘new’ LB system will be finished in time.
The provincial election commission will complete delimitations within 60 days starting next month and after that voting for village panchayat and balloting for local bodies will take 45 days, the premier told.
The participants of the meeting were told that the local government elections be held by year end.
Imran Khan expressed satisfaction at the pace of preparations and stressed the need for activating local government system to provide people with relief on their doorstep.
After forming government at the Centre 2018, the PTI chief vows to introduce a ‘new’ local government system that would revolutionalised the lives of countrymen and prove to be the nurseries for national leadership. He claimed that the system will bring in a culture of indiscriminate distribution of funds and put an end to funding the favourites.
