mplementation on yet another agreement between Pakistan and China has begun as now the former, for the first time in history, will export beef to the latter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) on Wednesday allowed Pakistani exporters to export boiled beef to China.
The decision will enable Pakistani exporters to earn millions of dollars.
However, the GACC also issued certain guidelines for Pakistan exporters which are mentioned below:
The beef must be extracted from cattle younger than 30 months; the meat must be boneless; the center of the meat should reach a temperature of at least 70 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes; companies must operate under Pakistani official supervision with adherence to the veterinary health and public health regulations of both China and Pakistan.
Moreover, it was also made mandatory that before exporting heat-treated beef to China, it must be made sure that the producer was registered with China, and only the beef produced after the registration date is allowed for export.
The GACC statement also mentioned requirements for animal disease management, processing conditions, storage, certification, packaging, transportation, and labeling.
Pakistan will sell a large quantity of beef to China every month. The meat export will be done through barter trade.
China has the capacity to import meat worth $15 billion.
