A clip featuring veteran Pakistani actress Meera has been making rounds on social media and stirred controversy where an attempt was seemingly made to humiliate the star during an interview.
Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn took to her Instagram story and expressed disappointment towards the host's behavior and commended Meera for handling the situation with poise.
During the segment, Meera shared a quote she found meaningful: "In the hands of life, it’s not important to hold all the good relations but it is more important how good you behave with the relations you hold."
Even as she read the quote there was an unending laugh track playing in the background, clearly attempting to humiliate her despite the serious content of the message.
The host then insisted Meera repeat the quote from memory as if to embarrass her further. The presenter continued to make sarcastic remarks towards her but Meera remained very composed and humble.
Meera replied gracefully in Urdu, “I haven’t learned it by heart, that’s why I’ve written it for you.”

Sonya Hussyn offered support for Meera and condemned the host's actions saying, “She shared something profound, but the host's mockery shows his lack of understanding. He didn’t have the level of intellect to understand it.
"It's the best example of when people can't reach your level, they'll try to bring you down to theirs. But she smartly ignored him and said that those who need to understand will get it. Just let it go."
Meera's composed response serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting others' language skills and fostering empathy in public interactions.
