KP doctors demand PPE as COVID-19 infects another 11

Coronavirus was found in another 11 doctors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the Professional Doctors Association said the government must provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to all healthcare professionals.

According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the number of doctors infected by the coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has now climbed to 160, while one of them martyred.

The province is witnessing a very high rate of infection among the healthcare professionals despite having the PTI-led government since 2013. The party is known for the promises more resources of health and education sectors.

Last month, a senior doctor died Dr Prof Muhammad Javed died in Peshawar. He was being treated at the isolation centre of Hayatabad Medical Complex. He breathed his last after remaining on a ventilator for several days.

The deceased doctor was working in the ENT Department of Hayatabad Medical Complex.

And Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also tops the list when it comes to the deaths caused by the pandemic. In fact, it is far ahead of any other province with 275 people dying so far. The number of confirmed cases in the province currently stands at 5,252.
