Another five flights cancelled at Lahore Airport

Smog reduces visibility to 1,200 metres on runway

Another five flights were cancelled due to operational hurdles and shortage of planes at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the airport inquiry, the cancelled flights were: Airblue’s flight from Lahore to Karachi 405, Airblue’s two-way flight from Lahore to Karachi 407/408, PIA’s flight from Lahore to Karachi 307 and Airblue’s flight from Karachi to Lahore 307.

Meanwhile, the smog-filled pollution has engulfed the Lahore Airport where the visibility on the runway reduced to only 1,200 metres.

According to sources, the pilots have complained of difficulties while landing and taking off the planes. The foreign and domestic airlines have been alerted about the visibility issue.
