Senior journalists and political analysts have apologized to the nation for believing and supporting Imran Khan and his team for ‘change’ in the last general elections.
In the 24News HD TV channel program—DNA—on Saturday, prominent figures of media Saleem Bukhari, Iftikhar Ahmad, PJ Mir, and Javed Iqbal strongly condemned the threats given by Asad Umar to media and opposition.
Leading analyst Saleem Bukhari has apologized to the nation for believing Prime Minister Imran Khan's slogan of change to be true and supporting it in the last general election.
Saleem Bukhari said he admitted that he was guilty of supporting Imran Khan after the threats made by Asad Umar to the media.
He along with other media persons sitting here confessed to ‘this crime’ of supporting PM Imran and found themselves guilty and ashamed.

Saleem Bukhari said he was unaware of the sitting rulers that they would abuse the media after becoming in power.
Anyhow, Saleem Bukhari said, the rulers would have to pay a heavy price for their thanklessness because it was a path of destruction.
He said Asad Umar threatened the opposition that PTI workers would torture the opposition if it tried marches towards Islamabad.
Saleem Bukhari said in fact, it was tantamount to provoking the opposition and pushing the country towards anarchy.
On this, Iftikhar Ahmed said that the culture introduced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2018 and beyond was reflected in the bitterness of the statements of Asad Umar, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Zulfi Bukhari and most of the government ministers.
Iftikhar Ahmed said that Zulfi Bukhari’s statement in which he had hinted not to accept the new prime minister clearly showed the frustration and confusion of the government.
Commenting on this, Saleem Bukhari said that the government had become weak and his allies including Q-League and MQM were also angry with the rulers.
Saleem Bukhari added that no one could save the government boat from sinking in the centre and Punjab except the support of allies in the joint sitting of Parliament.
Javed Iqbal said that he did not see the current frustration and helplessness in the government in the last three years especially when the PM said to the core committee that it should control the nerves in the last over that could be a sign of changing in the government circles.
PJ Mir said that in a democracy there were differences of opinion and if the bitterness, disrespect and intolerance become in the politeness of democracy then such democracy should be thrown into the ocean.
He also objected to Maulana Fazlur Rehman who called Imran Khan 'unclean' during his speech in Karachi. He said the statement of Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan against Nawaz Sharif was also the last nail in the coffin of political ethics.
Javed Iqbal said that Ghulam Sarwar Khan wanted to see Nawaz Sharif in a coffin or jail and he had hurt workers and voters of the PML-N.
The panel also criticized the Punjab government for did not take measures against the heavy smog and dengue in Lahore.
