The Oscar contender film "Joyland" is in peril a week before its release since the Central Board of Film Censors Islamabad and Ministry of Information and Broadcast have banned the movie due to its inappropriate and offensive content.
Ace designer Maria B has been trending on twitter because she was also urging a ban on the movie because it is not accordance with our Islamic culture and laws.
Homosexuality and LGBT is forbidden in Islam, argued the designer and then she also gave references from Holy Quran and Hadith to validate her stance.
In a series of stories on Instagram, Maria B wrote that it is mentioned in the Holy Quran that How Allah destroyed the Qaum-e-Lut because they were homosexuals and our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) especially warned his Ummah to stay away from this Fitnaa.
“Joyland not only shows an extramarital affair between two men but also encourages gender transition surgery,” highlighted the designer in her stories.
It is pertinent to note that Maria B has been very vocal about LGBT phenomenon and has always raised her concerns about this agenda.
She previously called out LGBT rights activists and applauded a school authorities for forbidding the transgender Mehrub Moiz Ali from giving a Ted Talk in an Islamabad private school.
