The Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected on Monday to grant relief to Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the matter of revoking the decision to withdraw his bail by the Anti-Corruption Court, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The LHC's decision affirmed the Anti-Corruption Court's stance on rescinding Ch Parvez Elahi's bail.
Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed conducted the hearing on Chaudhry Parvez Elahi's plea to overturn the decision to withdraw his bail.
The Lahore High Court, in response to the petition, formally rejected Ch Parvez Elahi's request to reinstate his bail, aligning with the Anti-Corruption Court's position. Elahi had challenged the decision to revoke his bail on October 11. Despite his legal challenge, the Lahore High Court upheld the Anti-Corruption Court's decision.
It is noteworthy that the Anti-Corruption Court withdrew the bail that had lacked proper notice, violating Article 10-A of the Constitution.
Parviz Elahi's legal team argued against the abrupt revocation of bail, emphasizing the procedural irregularities.
However, the LHC, in its recent ruling, maintained the Anti-Corruption Court's decision, leaving Ch Parvez Elahi without the sought-after relief.
