A company, which had purchased the broadcasting rights for the Champions Trophy, has pressured the International Cricket Council (ICC) to release the tournament’s schedule forthwith, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The ICC had sold the rights for $3 billion.
Quoting its sources, 24News TV channel has reported that the council had assured that matches between Pakistan and India would definitely be the feature of the tournament. However, following India’s refusal to come to Pakistan and the strong reaction given by the latter, this does not seem to be happening, sources have said, and added that the broadcasters earn a lot from encounters between the two arch-rivals.
However, a delay in the release of the schedule has caused a huge loss to them, sources informed.
