Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has addressed recent rumours about her health, categorically denying claims that she has cancer, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Thursday.
In a social media statement, she clarified, “There are vlogs and rumours circulating on social media suggesting I have cancer, but I want to make it clear that I do not have cancer. I am dealing with a parathyroid condition.”
The clarification comes amid widespread speculation, particularly from vloggers and YouTubers, who claimed that the CM was suffering from a fatal illness.
They also pointed to a family history of cancer, referencing her mother, who tragically passed away due to the disease.
CM Maryam Nawaz’s statement aims to dispel these rumours and provide an accurate update on her health.
Nowadays, Maryam Nawaz, along with her father, former premier Nawaz Sharif, and brothers, is on a trip to Europe.
She departed from Lahore to Geneva, Switzerland, on a private jet for a medical consultation with her personal doctors a week ago on last Thursday.
According to the TV channel, after spending a few days in Geneva, she plans to travel to European countries with her father and brothers.
Before her trip to Europe, CM Maryam Nawaz was admitted to the Sharif Medical City Complex for about 12 hours due to a severe throat infection and was advised three days of complete bed rest.
Maryam's international travel had been postponed twice in the last three days due to her health issues. However, her local doctors cleared her for travel on November 7, 2024.
Together with her brothers, Maryam Nawaz is anticipated to visit various parts of Europe. Her foreign tour was initially expected to last about a week and her return to Pakistan on November 12, but now it has been prolonged.
