Rawalpindi's Waqar-ul-Nisa College for Women has been given university status with the efforts of Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, reported 24News HD TV channel.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar will be the chief guest at a ceremony being organised tomorrow in this regard.
Sheikh Rashid said that apart from three women universities, 60 other educational institutions have been set up and the target of educational institutions in Rawalpindi city has been completed.
Rawalpindi is the first city in Pakistan to have three government universities for women.
This year, through the efforts of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the establishment of Rawalpindi Women's University also came into effect.
Sheikh Rasheed said they would also set up a government IT university in Rawalpindi. He said that there was also positive progress on the Nala Lai project and the people of Pindi will soon get the good news.
