National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday dropped another bomb of price hike by approving to increase in the cost of electricity by Rs3.21 per unit for the quarterly adjustment of April 2022.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, a notification of the approval from NEPRA has been issued and an additional burden of Rs93.95 billion has been imposed on the electricity consumers.

The channel report said that NEPRA has sent the decision of increasing rate of the electricity for the quarterly adjustment of April 2022 to the federal government.
As per the decision of NEPRA, the increase in the cost of electricity will be applicable from October 1, 2022, and the additional recovery will be made for 4 months.
The notification said that the decision of NEPRA will not apply to the consumers of K-Electric.
The official sources said that the previous various adjustments already expired on September 30, 2022, so the new adjustment will come into effect from October 1.
