Despite elapsing five months, the Punjab University is yet to get a permanent vice chancellor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The tenure of Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed as the temporary vice chancellor ended on Friday, and it had not been decided who would be given the additional charge.
It is to be noted here that the post of permanent vice chancellor in Punjab University fell vacant on June 7, 2022.
On June 7, the pro-vice chancellor got the temporary charge of vice chancellor which ended on July 5.
After the pro-vice chancellor, former vice chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmed had been given the additional charge which ended on Friday.
The search committee, formed for the appointment of the permanent vice chancellor, could not complete the interviews of the candidates.
