Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Wednesday strongly condemned the FIA Cyber Wing raid at the party Senator Saif’s house and announced raising the issue in the Senate.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PTI’s affectee Senator Saifullah Niazi along with other senators and legal advisors including Babar Awan, Azam Swati and Faisal Javed addressed an urgent press conference and condemned the raid.
Talking to the media, Senator Saifullah Niazi said he was treated by the FIA officials like a terrorist during the raid at his house.
The PTI senator also said FIA officials entered his house without even thinking about the children inside there.
PTI’s legal expert and former senator Babar Awan said there should be a difference between a robber and a law enforcement official entering a house.
Babar Awan said under the Article 55 of the Constitution of Pakistan, women and children should be protected in every way at home.
He also said that according to the code of conduct, the magistrate should have been with the law enforcement officials during the raid at the senator’s house.
Senator Azam Swati said that these tactics of the government can never dishearten the workers of Imran Khan. He said insulting the members of the Senate will not be tolerated under any circumstances and this issue will be raised in the Senate as well.
On this occasion, Senator Faisal Javed said that Imran Khan raised his voice against violence and for human rights but the government made a case of terrorism against him for suppression.
